What the site does
FreeGPT.IM (https://freegpt.im) is a free, browser-based image generator built on top of OpenAI’s GPT Image 2 model. You can describe an image in plain language, or upload reference images, and get a generated result in seconds — with no sign-up, no credit card, and no ChatGPT subscription.
The service is aimed at hobbyists, designers, students, and anyone who wants to experiment with modern image generation without friction. We support 13 languages. The browser gallery saves images on your device in IndexedDB. Generation requests and reference images are processed through our servers and upstream providers; processing can involve temporary object storage. The local gallery is not a server backup.
How it stays free
Image generation is expensive. We cover the cost through advertising. Displaying a small number of non-intrusive ads on the site lets us absorb the per-generation bill so you do not have to. The existing free generator does not require an account or credit card. Optional subscription and credit-pack plans are in preparation; checkout is not yet available.
Users who need higher limits, premium models, or commercial licensing can upgrade to our sibling service, Dreamega.ai.
Who runs it
FreeGPT.IMis an independent project run by a small team of engineers focused on making AI tools accessible without the usual onboarding tax. The site is operated from a single codebase, deployed on Cloudflare’s edge network, and uses OpenAI’s GPT Image 2 as its primary model. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI.
Principles
- Zero-friction.No accounts, no forms, no “start free trial”. Open the site, generate.
- Privacy by default. Your gallery is stored locally in your browser. Generation processing uses our servers and upstream providers, and request metadata is recorded for abuse prevention. See our Privacy Policy for details.
- Honest about ads. The ads pay for your generation. We tell you so.
- Fair-use caps. A daily limit per device keeps the service sustainable and usable for everyone.
