This Cookie Policy explains how FreeGPT.IM uses cookies and similar technologies (local storage, IndexedDB, pixels) to run the site, keep it secure, and fund it through advertising.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Some cookies are set by the site you visit (“first-party”) and some by services the site embeds (“third-party”).
2. Categories we use
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to work. These cannot be switched off.
- Theme preference— remembers light / dark mode.
- Locale— remembers your language choice.
- Cloudflare Turnstile— human-verification challenge used to block automated abuse.
- Rate-limit accounting— a lightweight browser fingerprint plus a server-side record used to enforce the fair-use daily cap.
- Page nonce— a one-time token that binds a page load to a single generation to prevent replay.
Analytics
Help us understand aggregate traffic patterns. Loaded only after page idle so they never block your first interaction.
- Plausible (cookie-less, aggregate) or Google Analytics (with IP anonymisation) depending on deployment.
Advertising
Fund the free service. Set by Google and its ad-tech partners.
- Google AdSense — may set cookies such as
__gads,__gpi, and theNID/IDEcookies (set under Google domains) to serve, limit, and measure advertising. - Third-party advertisers via Google’s ad network may also set cookies to personalise ads you see on this site and other sites.
Local storage (not a cookie)
- IndexedDB gallery— your generated images are stored in your browser’s IndexedDB as binary blobs. The local gallery is not a cloud backup; generation itself is processed by our servers and upstream providers. Clearing browser data removes the local copies.
3. Your choices
- Consent (EEA / UK / CH).If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we ask for consent before non-essential cookies (including personalised advertising) are set, via a consent message compliant with the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework. You can change your choices at any time by re-opening the consent banner from the footer link.
- Opt out of personalised ads. Visit Google Ads Settings to manage how Google personalises ads for you across the web.
- Industry opt-outs. DAA (US) / EDAA (EU) / AdChoices (CA).
- Browser controls. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may break parts of the site (for example, generation may fail because the human-verification check cannot complete).
4. Do Not Track
We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals because there is no industry-wide standard. We do honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where applicable under CCPA / CPRA.

We may update this Cookie Policy. Check the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be surfaced on-site.
